High School

Welcome to High School | Warrior Nation

High School inside Warrior Nation is more than academics—it’s a place where students are nurtured in faith, character, and leadership. We understand that High School is our last chance to pour into our students. Rooted in our core values of being Christ-Centered, fostering Community, embracing Discipleship, and practicing Compassion and Service, we empower students to cultivate their gifts, serve others, and strengthen their relationship with Christ.

Our freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors are challenged to discover their God-given gifts and prepare for life beyond Bracken. Whether students are headed to college, trade school, the military, or their first job, we celebrate every path into adulthood. We encourage our students to stretch themselves and pursue excellence as a way of honoring God in all they do; for example, our senior class of 2024 earned over $4 million in scholarships, reflecting the dedication of both students and faculty.

Academic Excellence

High School students follow a seven-period day in both Traditional and STREAM programs, with classes designed to provide a rigorous, Christ-centered education. Our curriculum includes:

  • Honors Courses: Challenging courses that prepare students for college and career readiness.
  • Dual Credit Opportunities: Through Colorado Christian University, students in grades 9–12 can earn college credit in selected courses. These Courses may be online or in person, depending on the course.
  • Bible Integration: Daily Bible class is a key part of the schedule, and a biblical worldview is incorporated across all subjects.
  • Electives: A variety of electives allow students to explore interests, develop talents, and discover new passions.
  • Weekly Chapel: Students gather weekly for worship, spiritual growth, and community building.
  • Seniors who have completed their required credits may qualify for an early release schedule, allowing them to work or pursue other responsibilities while continuing to compete and thrive in athletics.

Academic Studies

High School at Bracken offers flexible paths to help each student succeed. All programs are fully ACSI and Cognia accredited.

  • Required Program: Provides the credits needed for graduation and follows the Texas Recommended High School Program (TEKS), giving students a strong foundation for life beyond high school.
  • Distinguished Scholars Program: Offers motivated students the opportunity to pursue advanced coursework through Honors and Dual Credit classes, challenging them to develop academic excellence and preparing them for success in college and beyond.
  • STREAM Program: A flexible option combining on-campus instruction with independent, at-home learning days, giving students the opportunity to develop self-discipline, time management, and independent study skills while still engaging with teachers and peers in meaningful ways.
  • Honors Level Classes Designed for students seeking a greater challenge, these courses provide a more rigorous, college-preparatory experience while encouraging curiosity, growth, and deeper learning.
  • Dual Credit: Through Colorado Christian University, students in grades 9th–12th can earn college credit in select courses, giving them a head start on higher education while still in high school.

Spiritual & Leadership Opportunities

High School at Bracken is more than classes—it’s about growing in faith, friendships, and leadership! At the beginning of the year, students head to High School Retreat, a few action-packed days full of outdoor adventures, team challenges, and fun activities. It’s a favorite tradition where students bond, make new friends, and build lasting memories—all while growing closer to God and their peers.

Throughout the year, students participate in weekly chapel, where they worship together, hear inspiring messages, and reflect on their faith. One of the highlights is Spiritual Emphasis Week, a special time to dive deeper into God’s Word, connect with mentors, and experience faith in a meaningful, hands-on way.

Students also take their faith beyond campus through service opportunities, helping in the community, and learning to lead with compassion. Many high-achieving students have the added opportunity to be recognized in service, leadership, character, and scholarship through the National Honor Society (NHS), an organization that celebrates excellence and encourages students to make a positive impact both on campus and in the community.

These experiences—retreat, chapel, service, and NHS and Student Council—help students grow in teamwork, responsibility, and Christ-like love, shaping them into confident, caring leaders ready for the world.

High School Retreat

At the start of the school year, all High School students head out for three days in the Texas Hill Country for our High School Retreat—a time to step away from the classroom, build community, and grow in faith. Students strengthen friendships, develop meaningful connections, and deepen their relationship with God, setting the tone for a purposeful and successful school year.

Our seniors enjoy an extended experience—a full week dedicated to leaning into the Word, reflecting on their journey, and preparing for the next chapter of life with guidance, encouragement, and spiritual growth.

Athletics

Warrior Athletics | Built on Faith. Driven by Excellence.

At Bracken Christian, athletics isn’t just a game—it’s a way of life and a pillar of our Warrior Nation pride. Competing in TAPPS and beyond, our student-athletes are challenged to push their limits, pursue excellence, and honor God in every practice, game, and season.

Our coaches go beyond the scoreboard. They invest in each athlete personally, building relationships that encourage spiritual, emotional, and athletic growth—on the court, on the field, and in life.

For us, athletics is more than competition. It’s where Warriors learn discipline, teamwork, leadership, and resilience, all while living out Christian values that prepare them for success well beyond sports. With every drill, every game, and every victory, our athletes are developing into strong men and women of faith, guided by mentors who care deeply about their journey.

Participation Requirements

To compete in TAPPS athletics, students must be enrolled in at least four full-credit classes.
