Facilities Technician

Employment Status: Part Time

Position Description: Our mission at Bracken Christian School is to partner with Christian families through the leadership and guidance of the Holy Spirit to provide an excellent education within the context of a biblical worldview, equipping students to impact their communities for Christ.
 

Bracken Christian School is looking for a committed individual to complement our faculty and students working with our Facilities Team. Assisting the facilities manager and team members in the maintenance, upkeep and minor repairs of the campus.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledgeable in the Google Suite of programs
  • Records maintenance skills
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of one or more building trades
  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods, stoop, bend and carry/lift overhead, push/pull up to 50lbs.
  • Strong Christian faith and personal testimony
  • Adheres and agrees with the school's statement of faith.


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Continuing education or vocational training preferred or 2 years related experience
  • Reliable and predictable attendance
  • Position will be required to work a varied on-call schedule that may include evenings, nights, and week-ends
  • Present a positive, professional image
  • Must be self-motivated and customer service oriented
  • Strong interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing and other repair work
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, use hands to finger, climb or balance, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk
  • The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration
  • The noise level in the work environment can be at times loud

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Facilities Director in daily operations of repair and maintenance; promptly handles all maintenance problems within the department areas of responsibility
  • Monitors, maintains, and performs standard repairs to building electrical facilities and systems, such as tubes, fixtures, switches and outlets; assists licensed electricians with non-technical repairs as appropriate
  • Monitors performance of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems for the facility; performs standard repair/replacement of components, as appropriate, and non-technical maintenance tasks such as cleaning of heating and cooling fan coil units and adjustment of system controls.
  • Monitors and performs non-technical maintenance of plumbing systems, to include standard repair of leaking fixtures, cleaning obstructed waste lines, installing water coolers, and/or performing non-technical modifications to plumbing and water supply systems; assists licensed plumbers, as appropriate.
  • Performs carpentry maintenance tasks including routine sheetrock/drywall installation and/or repair, window replacement, cabinet and countertop replacement, painting and texturing, and door and hardware installation; paints interior and exterior finishes, as appropriate.
  •  Assist in maintaining water treatment and storage systems
  • May perform general maintenance, custodial, and trash removal tasks.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Documents facilities maintenance requirements; maintains appropriate records of work performed.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Ensure the efficient and prompt handling of all department work orders and requests

High School Girls Volleyball Assistant Coach

Employment Status: Part Time, 2024-25 School Year

Reports To: Athletic Director
Supervises: None
Relates To: Administration, Faculty, Parents, Students


Position Description: Our mission at Bracken Christian School is to partner with Christian families through the leadership and guidance of the Holy Spirit to provide an excellent education within the context of a biblical worldview, equipping students to impact their communities for Christ.

You will be assisting the volleyball head coach in training, developing, and supervising the team while incorporating a biblical worldview. Flexible schedule to coach after school and some weekend tournaments, attend all games and take stats during matches.


Experience: 

  • Minimum of 3 years experience coaching volleyball.
  • Played high school or college volleyball. 
  • Familiar with TAPPS or UIL high school volleyball rules.
  • Knowledge and ability to take stats during matches.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work with youth, parents and fellow coaches and remain friendly, calm, and patient at all times.
  • Strong Christian faith and personal testimony.
  • Must hold a current CPR certification.

JV/MS Football Assistant Coach

You will be assisting the head coach in training, developing, and supervising the team while incorporating a biblical worldview. Flexible schedule to coach after school and attend all games.


Experience: 

  • Minimum of 3 years experience coaching football.
  • Must have knowledge of 6-man football.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work with youth, parents and fellow coaches and remain friendly, calm, and patient at all times.
  • Strong Christian faith and personal testimony.
  • Must hold a current CPR certification.

Substitute Teacher

Employment Status: Part Time (as needed) Contractor
Reports To: Substitute Coordinator

You will be responsible for following the teacher's lesson plan for the day, helping the students stay on task for the day and taking attendance.

  • Experience in a classroom or with students.
