Glorify Through the Arts

"In the beginning, God created..." —and He made each of us in His image, gifted with imagination, creativity, and unique talents. 

At Bracken Christian School, we believe that creativity is a gift from God, meant to be nurtured and shared. Our Fine Arts and elective programs provide students with opportunities to develop their talents, build confidence, and grow in skill, all while glorifying God through their work. From elementary students discovering new abilities to middle and high school students refining their craft, every student can find a place to thrive.

Elementary Fine Arts and Specials 

• Choir: An after-school opportunity meeting once a week, where students learn vocal technique, rhythm, and harmony. They participate in large holiday performances and special programs, gaining confidence and teamwork while sharing their voices to glorify God.
• Music Class: Weekly classes focus on instruments, rhythm, and musical concepts, including songs for chapel performances with hand motions, instrumental accompaniment, and music reading. Students develop a love for music, creativity, and confidence.
• Performances: Students participate in chapel productions and seasonal performances, such as Easter and Christmas programs. They memorize lines, dress for roles, sing, and perform solos. Recently, interpretive dance has been introduced, enabling students with diverse talents to take part and shine. Participation is optional, giving students a choice in how they engage.
• Art Class: Weekly classes teach drawing, painting, and hands-on projects while introducing students to famous artists and their techniques. Students participate in competitions, create planners, coloring books, and uplifting cards, using art to share joy and encouragement in their daily lives.

Secondary Fine Arts & Electives

• Visual Arts: Middle and high school students engage in advanced artistic techniques and creative projects, studying influential artists and developing original work that showcases personal expression and skill.
• Praise & Worship Team: Students audition to lead the campus in music and worship, combining musical talent with spiritual growth.
• Elementary Performance Mentorship: Secondary students can participate in elementary productions, helping younger students while developing leadership and collaboration skills.
• Electives: A variety of electives allows students to explore new interests, including Yearbook, Photography, Mechanics, Strength & Conditioning, Study Skills, Study Hall, and more. These courses provide practical skills, personal enrichment, and opportunities to discover new passions.

Our Fine Arts and elective programs give students a chance to explore talents, build confidence, and connect with peers, all in a supportive, Christ-centered environment. Whether performing on stage, creating art, leading worship, or exploring a new elective, every student has opportunities to develop skills, express themselves, and shine for God.
