"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6

Accredited by ACSI and SACS, Bracken Christian School offers a strong program where we strive for academic excellence. We offer daily Bible class, daily devotions and weekly chapel. Our students benefit from small classes led by talented teachers and an array of opportunities. Students receive extra help during our special block periods, and teachers also make themselves available upon request.  Beginning in August, 2019 Bracken Christian School will be offering a new program this year through the National Institute of Learning Development (NILD).  NILD is a program for students with average to above-average intelligence who struggle in the classroom.  The goal of the program is to equip students with learning differences to succeed academically and in life as independent learners.

All subjects are taught from a Christian perspective as spiritual maturity is one of our primary goals. Students are constantly challenged to put their faith into action by serving and becoming a servant leader in our community as well as at Bracken Christian School. Our Students And Leaders Together (S.A.L.T.) program is one such program where older students are paired with younger students (based on grade level) and lead by example.

Preparation for college is also a primary objective of the High School program. We follow the TEA graduation requirements and offer Recommended and Distinguished programs. Click on the test results link to see which colleges our graduates attended or accepted, and the  ACT/SAT 2017 Test Results. At Bracken Christian School we score above average on the ACT/SAT tests.

Academic Program Options

For the 2020-2021 school year, we will begin offering three distinctly different educational programs designed to allow parents flexibility while achieving the same educational goal; an excellent education within the context of a biblical worldview, equipping students to impact their culture for Christ.

BCS Traditional 5 Day Program, K4 - 12th

Students enrolled in BCS Traditional receive professional instruction on campus 5 days a week. Well-qualified teachers teach their subjects from a Christian perspective. The students are constantly challenged to put their faith in action by participating in ministries such as Students And Leaders Together (S.A.L.T. Program) and being involved in Service Projects for our school and the local community.

BCS STREAM Program, K5 - 8th

Students enrolled in BCS STREAM receive professional instruction on campus two to three days a week and study at home under the tutelage of their parents the remaining days.  Our BCS STREAM Program offers a schedule that allows for flexibility and responsiveness to the unique needs of families.  It allows students to take ownership of their education and develop skills in problem solving and time management at an early age.  BCS STREAM strives to curate elements from a variety of research-based, educational models that are successful in keeping the gospel of Jesus Christ at the center of all that is taught.  Supplemental Labs, Arts and Athletics are available as electives at the published rate.

BCS Flex Program, 9th -12th:

Students enrolled in BCS Flex receive instruction from the professional teachers in our Traditional 5 Day Program through an a la carte system. Recognizing that God calls some to administer education in the home, we view the a la carte classes as an opportunity for Bracken and homeschooling parents to partner in the education of their children. Bracken encourages part-time students to be a part of the school culture and find their important role in building a strong godly school. Core classes, Advanced Classes, Dual Credit Classes, Electives, and Athletics are offered through BCS Flex.  Students participating in at least 4 academic classes each semester are eligible to participate in TAPPS activities.  TAPPS, Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools, offers Fine Arts, Academic, and Athletic Competitions.

BCS SHIELD - Supplementing all of our Bracken Academic Program Options

In August 2019 Bracken Christian School began offering BCS SHIELD. Working through the National Institute of Learning Development (NILD), BCS SHIELD is for students with average to above-average intelligence who struggle with skills such as math facts, spelling, difficulty organizing personal space and time, or spend an unreasonable amount of time on homework.  The goal of the program is to equip students with learning differences to succeed academically and in life as independent learners.
