Our fifth grade DIY (Do It Yourself) class was busy in the kitchen this morning making their lunch. They filled the elementary halls with the aroma of spaghetti and meatballs cooking on the stove, and cupcakes baking in the oven.
The Bracken Christian School DIY program empowers our students to expand their independence through cooking, crafting, gardening and sewing. This program is one of our curriculum enrichment programs that spans throughout our elementary school. In addition to the DIY activities during school, Mrs. Theresa Serna also offers sewing classes after school where children of all abilities learn to sew by both machine and by hand.
If you would like to learn more about our elementary programming, please contact us today.
Nakalanga Paul, or Paul Nakalanga as his American friends and family call him, gave a beautiful testimony about family today. If you haven’t had the privilege to meet Paul, he is one of our sophomores and is here in the United States on a student visa from Uganda. This is his second year at Bracken Christian School. Paul is the second youngest in a family of seven children in Uganda; only three go to school, however, he is the only one in the United States.
